New or existing miniSims can be equipped with a compact high performance motion system from D-Box Technologies Inc.[1].
Compact, durable actuators installed on the cab frame provide motion cues to the operator (heave, roll, pitch), as well as vibration cues representing road surface texture (gravel, concrete, asphalt), vehicle speed, and engine RPM. These cues combine to create an immersive driving experience for the vehicle operator, enhancing control of the vehicle and increasing operator comfort.
The system has the following specifications:
- 3 degrees of freedom: Heave, roll, pitch
- Small, compact vertical actuators:
- Three actuators for Simplified Cab systems
- Four actuators for Quarter Cab systems
- Actuator specifications:
- Capacity: 250 lb [112 kg] each
- Stroke: 1.5 inch [38 mm]
- Power: 120/230 VAC, 1.5/1.0 A per actuator, 60/50 Hz
- Road surface types: gravel, concrete, asphalt
- Engine vibration
- Tuning menu with save/recall of motion parameters
- Emergency Stop buttons within reach of the driver and operator
